Backus Museum & Gallery, commending the outstanding performance and assistance by the Fort Pierce Police Department as they evacuated their building as a result of a fire alarm and smoke filled building. The officers assisted staff with removing the art and providing security until they were able to reenter the building, at such time as the officers continued to assist staff.
